Rest in Peace, Little Sweetheart

We had to say good-bye to our sweet, dear Mollie today.

It was the right thing to do; the compassionate, kind thing to do.

But somehow all that doesn’t matter to our broken hearts right now. All I know is that this black and white fur ball – that at times drove me totally off the deep end – made me laugh and smile (most of the time) and brought endless joy to my life.

I know we were good Mommies. I know we loved her completely and totally and spoiled her like no other.

But somehow all that doesn’t matter right now.

All I know is that there’s a hole in my heart as big as the entire outdoors; and no sweet, little fur ball laying on top of my chest tonight poking her precious, pink noise in my face staring at me with those cute, sweet, raccoon eyes of hers.

The Princess and I love you sweet Mollie Girl. Love you with all our hearts.

Rest in peace, little sweetheart. You brought us much joy.

I'm a retired special ed teacher, born in upstate NY, who spent most of my adult life in the SF/Bay Area and moved to the Olympic Peninsula of WA in June of 2017. At the encouragement of family and friends, who followed my silliness on my FB page, I started this blog a few years ago. I try to keep my topics as humorous as possible (because I believe "LIFE" is pretty serious these days), but will, on occasion write about more solemn subjects. I sincerely appreciate all who take the time and effort to read and make comments and am truly humbled when people actually "like" what I write. I do not participate in the "Wordpress awards" because I feel "awarded" when individuals actually read me and comment, but sincerely appreciate all of you who have considered me "award worthy" and thank you from the bottom of my heart. 1. Hi Lucie
My apologies that somehow my reader didn’t show me your recent stories.
Firstly I am sad that budiful Mollie has passed away. You and The Princess have a lifetime of memories that you have shared with Mollie. Very sorry mate for your loss, your story about your little sweetheart is beautiful and may she rest in peace.
I giggled while reading your story about you and the Princess driving all that way through rain hail, fire, storms, in your RV..she looks a rippa vehicle mate, no roughing it in that one Lucie..plenty of them in Australia, also those bago ones are real popular for the Grey Nomads down here…
So happy you are writing on WP again,
    Love and big hugs from

  2. Oh, my dear friend. I am so sorry. Remember that any person or animal you’ve loved with all your heart remains a part of you forever. The three of you still have your beloved Mollie. She’s in your hearts and memories.

    1. Thanks, Little Buddy….it’s sad watching little Boo deal with it, too…she lays in Mollie’s special places or we find her curled up under the Princess’s clothes in her hamper….makes my heart cry…..thanks for your love… ❤

  3. My Heart is so aching for you Two, and also your other Kitty, whose Heart is broken too. Give her lots of love and attention. She will need it, and maybe a new Rescue Friend in the near future. Love you.

    1. Love you, too. We’re being very careful with Boo Boo….she’s definitely depressed and very aware of her lost sister. She keeps going to Mollie’s spots and laying in them…has a weak appetite, as well… 😦

  4. Oh, Lucie! There is no pain equal to losing a pet. The Squire and I send you our biggest hugs.

Pets are, in every way, a lesson in faith; they trust us completely for their every need, and love us utterly. That sort of faith is always rewarded. I honestly believe they all go to Heaven.

    1. Thank you so much for you kind words (and hugs!). We certainly appreciate them. Right now we feel at such a loss….we’re so, so far away from close friends and relatives. Being embraced, though, by “new friends” and are very appreciative of the kindness and love being shown….Thank you so much…. (((Hugs))) Lucie

    1. Thanks, sweetheart. Hopefully, with time, the hurt will lessen…right now the 3 of us (Boo, the Princess and I) are all raw with emotion. Mollie was a very much “our little girl”…furry attitude and all!! (((Hugs))) Lucie
